Design inspired by Buddhist ritual objects. A quiet speaker.
脈のリズムで音が鳴る、静穏な造形のスピーカー
When a finger is placed on this work, a sound is made in the rhythm of the person’s pulse. A sensor and a speaker are built inside. While designing parts and jigs for assembly, the exterior was sculpted based on a spritual concept. A meditation on one’s own body and life itself – the shape expresses the serenity that comes from extracting only the “sound” from oneself and recognizing one’s own existence primitively as an object (without the aspect of being a social animal). The sensor in the center is the starting point, and the concave surface guides the user to the action of placing a finger on it. Although it is hard to notice from the outside, the surface around the sensor is intentionally switched to create a space where the center of the finger fits within the smooth concavity.
