I’ll be speaking at a talk event in Sumida City.

墨田区でのトークイベントに登壇します

We’ll be holding a talk event with local businesses at the Sumida Industry Co-Creation Facility.
I’ll be introducing an ongoing project and looking for collaborators to join us.

The project explores the idea of “Crafts of the Future” by tracing the activities of the Industrial Arts Research Institute (1952–1993), a research organization that played a key role in the development of Japanese design in the postwar era.

Through hands-on collaboration with local factories in Sumida, I’ve come to see that their attitude toward making, their high level of quality, and their refined techniques have the potential to shape what future craft can be.

戦後日本のデザイン発展に寄与した研究機関・産業工芸試験所(1952年-1993年)の活動をたどりながら、「未来の工芸」について考えたプロジェクト。
墨田区の町工場さんと協業しものづくりをしていく中で、その姿勢や品質,成熟したわざ が”未来の工芸”になりうると考えてます。
