Together with Kaito Hayashi. Personally, this will be my third time exhibiting at TIERS GALLERY in my four-year design career!
I am truly grateful to have once again been given the opportunity to present our work at a gallery that has always supported us.Where does the difference between today’s industrial products and works of craft lie? Looking back through history, many manufacturing techniques have, over time, evolved into craft and been passed down across generations. Perhaps the day will come when contemporary factory-based production is also recognized for its cultural significance.
Drawing on this process of value transformation, we are framing a new category we call “Industrial Craft.”
In this exhibition, we will present a collection of four prototypes—objects turned by NC lathes operating daily in the small factories of Sumida Ward, Tokyo. Through them, we aim to explore the potential future of industry and craft.
